Complete Nail Technician Course

A comprehensive training programme designed for those wishing to acquire competence as a highly skilled nail technician. The course is suitable for the complete beginner and those wishing to update their skills or change over from an existing nail system.
This is a flexible training programme and students are invited to study at their own pace, either participating for the entire week or choosing to learn a specific system - Acrylic, UV Gel or Silk and Fibreglass (see Individual Nail System Course).
The course is taught over 6 days, normally days 1-5 are held Monday to Friday and the 6th day (an essential review and assessment day) is held after a 6-8 week practice period.
Course Structure:
DAY 1 10am-5pm Luxury Manicure (inc paraffin wax treatment)
DAY 2 10am-5pm Fibreglass and Silk extensions / wraps
Day 3 10am-5pm UV Gels
Day 4 10am-5pm Acrylic (liquid and powder) - tip overlays and sculpting
Day 5 10am-5pm rebalance, maintenance and safe removal
(6-8 week practice period)
Day 6 10am-5pm review and assessment day
Course Criteria:
- Salon hygiene, sanitation / health and safety
- Structure of the nail, basic anatomy and physiology (hand and arm)
- Client consultation, contra-indications and client care
- Nail diseases and disorders
- Natural nail preparation
- Tip application
- Fibreglass/Silk, UV Gel and Acrylic nail enhancements
- Sculptured nails using the acrylic method
- Maintenance, rebalancing and removals
- Product knowledge
- Promotion and marketing of your new skill
Assessment:
Verbal and written assessments are undertaken during the course to confirm students understanding.
Certificate / Insurance
A certificate will be awarded on successful completion of the course. Your final assessment includes a written paper and practical examination. Once you have completed your training we recommend that you obtain public liability insurance. There are several companies that will insure you against our certificates.
